Our fee approach

We believe financial planning works best when costs, expectations, and deliverables are clear from the outset.

Thoughtful, fair, transparent advice

The work we do is personal, detailed, and built around long-term thinking. Because of that, our fees depend on the type of advice you need and the complexity involved; we charge for thinking, structure, and long-term judgement.

We encourage clients to consider the total cost of planning, implementation and ongoing advice together, rather than focusing on any single element.

In every case, we will always confirm the full implementation cost, the ongoing advice cost, and how these work together over time before we start our work, so you can make an informed, no obligation decision.

We typically work with individuals and families with £500,000 to £2.5 million+ of investable assets.

Initial financial planning and investment advice

When you ask us for investment or financial planning advice, we begin by understanding your circumstances, your objectives, and what you want your money to do. From there, we recommend a suitable course of action and, if you wish to proceed, we put those recommendations in place for you.

For lump-sum investments, our fee is tiered. This means the percentage reduces as the amount invested increases.

If we recommend multiple products and these are implemented over a period of time, we use the total investment amount to calculate the fee.

A comprehensive financial plan costs £2,500. This is a standalone piece of work and you are not committed to proceed beyond this stage.

This includes:

  • A full review of your financial position
  • Cashflow modelling and scenario planning
  • Tax, investment, and retirement strategies
  • A clear, structured set of recommendations.

As a guide, implementation costs typically range from 1.0% to 3.0% of assets arranged.

For example:

  • If you invested £400,000, the fee would be £9,000, which represents 2.25% of the amount invested
  • If you invested £750,000, the fee would be £13,000, which represents 1.73% of the amount invested
  • If you invested £2,500,000, the fee would be £29,250, which represents 1.17% of the amount invested

Implementation includes:

  • Tax-efficient placement of assets
  • Coordination with providers and third parties
  • Managing the process through to completion
  • Structuring and setting up investments and pensions

Implementation

If you decide to proceed, we take responsibility for putting the plan in place properly.

An implementation fee applies, based on a sliding scale reflecting the size and complexity of the work.

All costs are confirmed clearly in advance, before any action is taken.

Ongoing financial planning

For many clients, financial planning is not a one-off piece of work. Plans evolve. Circumstances change. Decisions need revisiting. Our ongoing service is designed to help keep your plans aligned with your goals over time. It includes:

  • Investment oversight and adjustments
  • Regular reviews (usually once or twice per year)
  • Ongoing financial planning and tax optimisation
  • Proactive contact as your circumstances evolve

Our ongoing advice fee is costed at:

  • 1.0% per year of the first £750,000
  • 0.9% per year of the next £250,000
  • 0.8% per year of the next £1,000,000
  • 0.5% per year above £2,000,000

For example:

  • If you invested £500,000, you would pay £5,000 per year
  • If you invested £1,250,000, you would pay £11,750 per year
  • If you invested £2,250,000, you would pay £19,000 per year

Existing client and family discounts

We believe long-term relationships should be recognised fairly.

For existing clients, we can reduce initial advice and implementation fees by taking into account the assets you already hold with us alongside any new money being invested. Existing clients may also have minimum implementation and ongoing fees waived.

In simple terms, this can move new investments into a lower fee tier.

We also offer fee discounts for family members of existing clients. This includes:

  • 10% discount on initial implementation fees
  • Minimum fee levels waived for eligible family members

For example:

  • If you already hold £250,000 with us and invest an additional £100,000, the fee may reduce from £3,000 to £2,357
  • If you already hold £500,000 with us and invest an additional £100,000, the fee may reduce from £3,000 to £1,917
